At a glance: Scans and photos are processed locally. No accounts, advertising or third-party analytics. You choose when to export and share. Website requests and support emails are explained separately below.
Who this policy covers
This policy explains how RoomLenz, the operator of the RoomLenz iPhone and iPad app and this website, handles information. It covers the current local-first app, website visits and correspondence you choose to send to us.
Information processed on your device
During a room scan, the app uses camera images, LiDAR depth, room geometry and camera pose to create floor plans, 3D models and photographic materials. During optional 360° capture, camera images and device motion help align and stitch the panorama. This processing takes place on your device.
Saved projects can contain room boundaries, dimensions, detected furniture, photographic materials, panoramas, optional RoomPlan archives and model exports, and property addresses, room names or floor labels that you enter. Imported photos may contain embedded metadata. Not every raw camera or depth frame is permanently saved.
RoomLenz stores saved project files in its local app storage. The current app does not automatically transmit these scans, images, motion readings or project details to RoomLenz or a developer-operated server. It has no account system, advertising, tracking or third-party analytics SDK.
Permissions and your choices
Camera access is used for room and panorama capture. LiDAR is used through the room-scanning session. Device motion is used to align panorama photographs.
When you import a photo or file, the system picker provides the item you choose; RoomLenz does not request unrestricted access to your photo library. Selecting an iCloud photo may cause Apple’s Photos service to download that selected item under your Apple settings.
You can stop a capture or change available permissions in your device’s Settings. Disabling camera access prevents new captures but does not prevent viewing existing saved projects. The app does not request access to your contacts, microphone or geographic location.
Support correspondence
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the message, device details or attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond, troubleshoot issues and handle privacy requests. Do not send private room imagery or home addresses unless necessary.
Correspondence is handled through the email service used for support. We retain it only as needed to address your request, support the app or meet applicable legal obligations. You can contact us to request access, correction or deletion of the correspondence you sent. We do not sell your support information or use it for advertising.
Visiting this website
This website serves product information, support guidance and this policy. Its page code does not include advertising, analytics, tracking cookies, third-party fonts or embedded social widgets. We do not ask you to upload a scan or create a RoomLenz account here.
Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website and may process technical request information such as IP address, requested page and browser information to deliver and secure the website. This is separate from the room data stored by the app. Website hosting does not give those providers access to your saved RoomLenz projects. Cloudflare handles this technical information under its own privacy policy.
Retention and deletion
Local projects remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. To delete a project, open it, select Property actions, choose Delete project and confirm. This removes the project and its saved assets from the app on the current device. Separately manage exports, recipients’ copies and Apple backups.
We cannot remotely access or delete scans stored on your device. Support correspondence can be addressed by emailing the contact below. If we need to retain some information for legal reasons, we will explain that when responding to a deletion request.
Security and children
Local app data is subject to iOS / iPadOS application storage and permission controls. Use a device passcode and review what you export or share. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
RoomLenz does not ask children to submit personal information or create an account. If you believe a child has provided personal information through support correspondence, contact us so we can address it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if the app or our information practices change, and revise the effective date. New cloud, account, advertising or analytics features would require a policy update before they are introduced.
